Hey DJ -- is it possible to get any kind of alternate URL for this board? From work I have to remote desktop to my house and use my home PC to get here, lest I incur the wrath of my company's network! Great message, too: "THE URL YOU REQUESTED HAS BEEN BLOCKED. An e-mail has been sent to System Services, who will contact you shortly so you can explain what you were doing on a forbidden site." I'm guessing it's the presence of the "proboards" in the URL that it's detecting. I might be able to hook up a URL redirect through mikebrehm.com, if you're OK with that. Probably only me that needs it anyway. Browsing the Internet via the Internet is a little slow

If you can do that, then I have no problems with it. Since this is a free site, I'm limited to the use of the "proboards57" URL, unless I buy something. But if you don't foresee any problems with redirecting it thorough mikbrehm.com, then I'm fine with it.

I got it technically all working, but proboards detects that it's been linked or something and gets mad at me. Oh well.
I can always call in some favors at work if I need to, or I can just stick with Remote Desktop.
Or maybe I should get my own forums going here. LOL. I wonder how effective they are with a 512Kbps uplink? J/K

Er, what's an uplink? The speed at which you can transfer data TO in the Internet. Upload vs. Download. Cable/DSL is usually set up with a much slower upload than a download. In my case, I have 3Mbps down, but only 512Kbps up. So if I were to host a service, 512Kbps would be my maximum bandwidth.

Hmm, where does that put me? I'm on a 56K modem.
